Group music therapy for staff with anxiety, PTSD, or PTSD-like symptoms
West Midlands Ambulance Service has provided charitable funding for a research study to see if group music therapy may help reduce some common mental health symptoms in our staff and volunteers. We are offering 4 groups of around 6 participants per group the chance to take part in 10 weekly 1-hour sessions, fully-funded by the Trust’s charitable funds. These sessions will have a varied programme including collective drumming, musical improvisation, reflection, and mindfulness, aimed at reducing symptoms of either post-traumatic stress disorder and PTSD-like symptoms, or generalised anxiety disorder. No musical knowledge is needed. For further information, see the poster or email WMASConfidential@wearechroma.com which is answered by Chroma music therapists directly. We plan to start programmes in the Birmingham and Black Country area in the start of 2023, with dates and times to be arranged with potential participants.
