Women’s Network Coffee & Café Afternoon 

The Women’s Network is hosting a Coffee & Café Afternoon on 28 October 2026, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at Sandwell Hub, Room 2. This informal session will provide a welcoming space for meaningful conversations around fertility, offering colleagues the opportunity to share experiences, learn from others, and connect in a supportive environment. 

The event will be hosted by Joanne Caines, Validation Clinician Prescriber and Women’s Network Vice Chair. Tea, coffee and informal discussion will be available, and all colleagues are welcome to attend. 

About Joanne

My name is Jo & I am a CVT Clinician & Independent Non-Medical Prescriber. I’ve been working with WMAS for over four years but 2026 celebrates my 40th year of NHS Service.

Other than the very first baby I ever delivered as a new student midwife in May 1990, my most notable career achievements have been collaborating with Public Health England to produce the Infectious Diseases in Pregnancy Handbook for Screening Midwives & also collaborating with an eminent professor in virology & Public Health England to produce the very first UK guideline for Covid-19 Infection Guidance for Maternity Services in April 2020.

As Vice-Chair of the Women’s Network I hope to bring my knowledge of women’s healthcare issues to benefit both network members & the wider WMAS workforce.
